Day 2- Inspired by Oscar De La Renta

Hi! Today’s mani was inspired by Oscar De La Renta, there were soo many beautiful dresses I had trouble choosing, but my nails have been colorful for a while now so I decided to go with a black and white design inspired by this:

I think I could have done better, but I didn’t have time to redo it I’m still happy with it though!

And ^ there’s a picture of how I did it! I really want to retry a chevron mani with smaller stripes…if I ever have time!

The colors I used were:
Base coat- Essie Grow Faster
OPI Sephora- If You’ve Got It, Haunt It
Wet N Wild- French White Créme
Top Coat- Seche Vite (took 2 coats because IYGIHI drank it up!!)

Challenge

Hi all! I guess I just missed having a challenge in my life too much, because I am (sort of) hosting one! I didn’t come up with this idea, I honestly just changed the dates! I don’t know who made it, but if you do please let me know, I would like to give them credit for this super fun idea!

Now I don’t know anything about fashion (honestly, my boyfriend is more fashion-conscious than i am!) but this challenge seems really fun to me, especially because I have only heard of a few of these designers, and I cant tell you any of their styles or anything, so in starting this challenge, I really have no idea what I’m getting myself into! hey thats half the fun right? maybe.

anyway, heres the picture of what the challenge entails. I changed the dates because the original ones were from april. also, i made it change every 2 days because i know that i am always sad when i have to take off a super cool mani, and i know this will be super cool because they are inspired by fashion!

Day 9/10- Polka Dots and Plaid

I was at Disneyland all day yesterday with my boyfriend and some friends, and I left pretty early in the morning and came back pretty late at night, so I didn’t have time to change my nails! I decided to combine the nail theme for today because I still wanted to participate in both of the days! 🙂 On one hand, I have polka-dots with a plaid accent nail, and on the other I have plaid(sort of) with a polka-dot accent nail! The “plaid” isn’t REALLY plaid, but its plaid enough for me!

I really like how they turned out! I know it looks black, but its really a super dark blue. Im really happy with how the dots turned out! 🙂 Not so happy with the plaid, plus they got messed up before I took pictures. Laaaaame.

Day 8- Zig Zag

I thought yesterday was zig zag so i have been planning this for 2 days now! i really like how it turned out!!! 🙂

Day 7- Rainbow

So…..I guess I went a little crazy with the loose glitter today…it sort of looks like a unicorn threw up all over my nails….if you are wondering about the “L” on my finger, thats me doing an experiment as to which substance makes loose glitter stick better. On my right hand, I put foil glue and let it get tacky before putting the glitter on…on my left hand, I just put a little Seche on and sprinkled the glitter on there and I’m going to see which one stays on better….unless I decide to take this mani off sooner than sunset. It is very glitter-tastic, i’m sure it doesnt show up in the pictures, but let me just tell you…its pretty bad. Well good I guess, if youre a unicorn….

I know that fishtail is one of the days I have to do, but I just love this design so much, you’ll have to deal with seeing it twice! 🙂

Day 4- Green

This one turned out pretty lame, but I had good intentions I swear! I painted my nails green then layered a sheer duo-chrome ove it, then I made a cool looking texture by touching the polish with my finger, just before it was dry…I think the Seche Vite kind of smoothed out the ridges but it did look cool and textur-ey I swear! The first pictures are without top coat, the last one is with. Oh well, at least I only have to have these boring nails for one day! 😛

EDIT: after looking at my nails, I realized that the pink tone in the duochrome matched a pink glitter i have so i added it and i like them a lot better now, although they are still very simple!

you cant really see the pink tone very well, but I can assure you, it matches in person!

it totally looks like the polish is already chipping but i think thats just thie shine or something, because its not chiping, i swear!

Day 3- Yellow

This mani wasn’t very difficult or complicated, and although i dont usually like yellow as a nail color, I like it a LOT better than my march yellow day! 🙂

Guess what????

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! 🙂 im 19 today! I’m sooo old 😉

today i tried a mani that i have been wanting to try to quite a while now, and I’m glad I actually did! They turned out so pretty and awesome!

the funny thing is, the darker color is the red from my nails yesterday, i just sponged on some orange afterword. not only is it an orange mani, its also green (as in environment friendly…cuz i recycled…) yeah. im punny and clever.

Day 31- Recreate a Mani You Love/Day 1- Red

Well, this has been really fun, and this is my last post. Yes I know. technically its April 1st and I missed my last day, but yesterday was easter so gimme a break! I loved this mani from Blanketprint, so I decided to recreate it. Its not hard to do, but it is a really striking nail design! very fierce. RAWR.

(EDIT) and, Craftynail alerted me of another 31 day challenge that is going on (EEP) i might do it, and this one just happens to fit perfectly with the day 1 of this challenge! I guess I’m just fated to join!
